What We Believe
We believe that all martial arts have merit. We believe in the
ethical practice of the martial arts.
We believe that the martial arts are a vehicle for achieving our goals. We believe that we can master ourselves through
hard training and commitment. We believe that, first and foremost, martial arts
training is for self-defense
and personal protection.
What
Students Say
Sensei Campos began instructing in 1969 and
has taught thousands of students over almost four decades. Some of them
have been kind enough to send him messages many years later expressing how much
their training has meant to them. Here are just two email messages he
has received in 2007:
Sensei Campos,
It has been over 20 years and I apologize for not keeping in touch. The
internet is a wonderful tool and this evening I used it to stir up some old
memories. I reviewed every page of the ZDK-USA website and thought it very
well done.
Once again I am drawn back to Martial Arts and have recently trained in a
studio within walking distance of my home in Alexandria, Virginia. It is the (Club

and the discipline is (Style

Karate. I attended a group class last evening and as I have done several times
in the past with other dojos, left the class disappointed.
The training I received from you at Zen Do Kai over 20 years ago is still with
me and is undoubtedly the best martial arts instruction I have or possibly
ever will receive. Your standards of excellence are unmatched and your
attention to detail remarkable. I still punch, kick and block with the
intensity and control that you instilled in me years ago. There was only one
other student that attended last evening’s class that had the desire to match
my enthusiasm.
I miss those Saturday afternoons in Johnstown doing knuckle pushups on the
hardwood floor and endlessly sparring with Chuck Brooks and Jim Simek. Thank
you for providing the best martial arts training, discipline and guidance to
not only succeed in the dojo but in life.
V/R,
Paul Onorato

Hello Sensei Campos,
Its been almost 30 years since a young colored male came to your studio
with his mom and his sister. I remember observing the training and the
excitement of just learning. Shortly after I joined the training. I
was strong enough to compete under your leadership at the MARS in Cleveland.
These small achievements changed my life and gave me the discipline to see a
clear path in life. Your service to the community builds strong and secure man
and women. I stand with all your past students looking back at my Sensei
with respect. I am sure students/customers have said thanks before.
Let me join them! I never forgot you Sensei.
Mr. Campos if you can send a message to all in the Zen do Kai community
for me. Follow the path of life with honesty and respect. Do the best for
people and give all the love you can before its to late. I will never forget
you Sensei. Peace and love!
